Documents and records are still there, the WAEC said following the Yaba office fire.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Management has disclosed that despite the fire that destroyed its office early on Wednesday, the documents and data kept in its Yaba, Lagos, headquarters remain unharmed.

Information Nigeria previously reported that the Council’s multi-story office structure caught fire on Wednesday.

Several people were reportedly trapped in the structure as the fire spread.

Many Held Hostage In Lagos WAEC Office Due To Fire

In a brief statement, the examination organization noted that a team of fire fighters had successfully extinguished the blaze that had enveloped its Lagos building in the early hours of Wednesday.

It also noted that no one had perished in the blaze.

“The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Management desires to utilize this medium to advise the general public that the WAEC National Office, Yaba, Lagos, experienced a fire incident early this morning. A group of firefighters quickly brought it under control.

Fortunately, no lives were lost, and all crucial data and documents were unharmed.
