Christian youths warn Nigerians not to act as political thugs ahead of the 2023 election

Nigerians were cautioned not to allow themselves to be used as political thugs in the 2023 general election by a coalition of Christian youths operating under the aegis of the Christian Association of Nigeria Youth Wing on Sunday in Abuja.

The young Christians asked Nigerians to stand up for their votes and ensure that they represent the will of the people.

The national chairman of YOWICAN, Belusochukwu Enwere, issued a statement in which he cautioned against electoral violence while urging the populace to defend themselves against assassins of any description who would disrupt the peaceful conduct of the election the next year.

He stated:

The organization would launch a worldwide peace campaign against electoral violence in all regions of the nation as a significant participant in the electoral process.

He exhorted Nigerians to embrace peace during the general election of the next year at all costs and at all levels.

Enwere bemoaned the fact that the 2023 general election was drawing near and that various forms of insecurity, including kidnapping, banditry, herdsmen, and unidentified gunmen, were plaguing the country.

Nigerians must caution political parties to play by the rules, according to the chairman of YOWICAN.
