Dancehall musician Byron Messia from Kittitia has enjoyed collaborating on the remix of his song “Talibans” with Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy.
In the most recent episode of the Bootleg Kev podcast, Messia discussed the song’s writing process and lauded Burna Boy’s “insane” talent.
He said that Burna Boy writes his verses on the fly while freestyling and that he never writes in a studio.
“Burna Boy performed his verse on the song “Talibans II” in front of me,” he declared. The meeting was dynamic and enjoyable. Burna Boy was amazing on that remix. The way that verse came to him, man, this man is crazy, insane, like ridiculously talented, but also incredibly talented.
Not only did he not write his verse. He did not spend an hour standing in the studio boot. It was an absurd situation.
