In a message to the people of the state, the Governor expressed optimism that brighter days are coming for the people.

He stated that the celebration of Jesus Christ’s birth should provide an occasion for people to express love for one another and offer gifts as well as quality time with the less fortunate, friends, and family members.

According to the governor, Christmas is a time for people to imbibe the everlasting virtues of compassion, tolerance, and forgiveness, regardless of ethnic, cultural, or historical distinctions, as shown by the birth of Jesus Christ.

He highlighted this year’s holiday season as unusual in that it was his first year in office as governor when the torch of a democratically elected office was passed to him, assuring the people that he and his team would never let them down.

The governor, who urged the people of Benue to avoid activities that undermine unity, asked them to learn to live in harmony with one another regardless of religious, ethnic, or political beliefs.

“Always watch out for their media propaganda often couched in press conferences, staged video clips, doctored audio files and massage, watch out those who have abdicated their primary legislative responsibilities which they were voted to Abuja to perform but have rather resorted to poisoning the minds of the people with hate in the bid to divide the people” .

The governor advised people to remember to visit the sick and to provide refuge to those who were unable to spend Christmas with their family because of insurgency or violence, particularly IDPs.
