AFRIKA KOMMT! brings together Africa’s most visionary young leaders and prominent German corporations. The AFRIKA KOMMT! Fellowship Program Prerequisites

During the 12th intake, there are 46 fellowship profiles available from 9 companies: B. Braun Melsungen, Boehringer Ingelheim, BioNTech SE, Robert Bosch GmbH, Merck KGaA, ODDO BHF, SAP SE, Volkswagen AG, and Siemens Healthineers are among the companies involved.

It is a program for exceptional young African professionals who want to broaden their abilities, knowledge, and experience and are not afraid to move outside of their comfort zone to do so! We aim to help young leaders drive economic and social growth in their nations by developing long-term collaboration with German business.
Benefits

The cornerstone of the AFRIKA KOMMT! initiative is a one-year stay in Germany for African professionals. The fellows actively work at their partner companies throughout this time, where they are trained and coached.

The partnering firms fund the full AFRIKA KOMMT! initiative. As a fellow, you will be reimbursed for all fees associated with your participation in the fellowship program (flights, accommodation, monthly stipend, trainings, language course).
Professional and tailored selection procedure: The program’s fellows are chosen through a detailed selection process that is carried out in close collaboration with the participating companies.

Fellows’ language and cultural integration: To prepare the fellows for their stay in Germany, the program begins with German language and cultural integration classes. The fellows will also have the opportunity to explore cultural heritage sites throughout Germany.

Fellows receive three modules of intensive management training in which they expand their knowledge of modern global management techniques.
Professional affiliation

AFRIKA KOMMT! Network: During numerous networking events, partner companies and African experts join together to share expertise and drive common projects.
Alumni phase: Following their one-year stay in Germany, the fellows serve as knowledge and skill transfer ambassadors in their home countries as alumni. A one-week refresher course in Germany or Africa expands alumni skill sets and supports the continuous building of the AFRIKA KOMMT! network.

How to Apply for an AFRIKA KOMMT Fellowship

Step 1 Examine the general candidate requirements; do you meet the standards and are you eligible for the program?
Step 2 Research the available fellowship positions.

The needed profiles for the fresh intake of AFRIKA KOMMT!.
Fellowship assignments will be offered exclusively during the application period.
Your application will be evaluated for the AFRIKA KOMMT! program as a whole, but you must select no more than two profiles in the application form and explain why.

Step 3 Fill out the application form in English at https://application.afrika-kommt.de.
Applications in other languages will be rejected.
You will be required to upload a short presentation about your motivation, a proposal for a change initiative, a photo, and your certificates in addition to completing out the application form.
