In Bayelsa’s Campaign Council, Wike Is Listed By Both The APC And The PDP Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike

has been named to the campaign councils of both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the governorship election in Bayelsa.

The former governor of Rivers State was chosen to head the campaign councils of both the ruling and opposition parties in Nigeria ahead of the upcoming governorship elections in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo.

“The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), H. E. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, in consultation with the National Working Committee (NWC), has approved the composition of the Bayelsa State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council with the primary purpose of leading the Gubernatorial Campaign in Bayelsa State and ensuring the triumph of our great Party at the November 11, 2023 Governorship election,” reads the APC’s circular.

Wike was recently sworn in as a minister by President Bola Tinubu, despite the fact that he has not resigned as a member of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to a disagreement with the party before the presidential election in February.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) named Inuwa Yahaya, the governor of Gombe, as the chairman of the party’s governorship campaign council in Bayelsa, alongside Abubakar Badaru, the minister of defense; Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate; and George Akume, the secretary general of the federation.

Dapo Abiodun, governor of neighboring Ogun state, will head the 135-person campaign council for the gubernatorial race in Kogi. Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Niger State Governor Umar Bago, and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani serve as the council’s co-chairmen.

The APC has appointed Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu as the chairman of the council for the upcoming election in Imo. Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, and Minister of State Nkeiruka Onyejeocha of Labor and Employment serve as co-chairmen.
