The supposed suspension of the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s (NNPP) 2023 presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has been called a Hollywood joke, according to NNPP chieftain Buba Galadima.

Remember that on Tuesday, following a meeting of the NNPP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) in Lagos, the BoT suspended Kwankwaso, saying that the former governor of Kano state had engaged in “anti-party activities in various meetings,” with “material evidence” to back up their claims.

The Board further alleged that Kwankwaso had met with then-candidate Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) without permission from the party.

Galadima referred to the suspension as a “Nollywood and Hollywood joke” in an interview with Channels Television’s Politics yesterday.

“When I saw it on social media, I thought it was like a Nollywood or Hollywood joke,” Galadima remarked.

According to Galadima, the NNPP’s BoT had been kicked out of the party a long time ago.

Everyone who was kicked out of school had to appear before a disciplinary board. They were instructed, and after making the necessary confessions, they were recommended for expulsion to the Nation Working Committee.

Galadima said that the NNPP is still strong despite sponsored infighting within the party.

Many people care about this party because its destruction is seen as essential to the survival of the other parties.

On the other hand, “unbeknownst to them we are as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar,” he remarked.

Galadima, defending the ex-governor of Kano against allegations of anti-party activity, said, “As a politician, we may meet with anybody.

“He took permission from us,” the party chairman claimed. No matter the circumstances, Kwankwaso was free to speak with President Tinubu and any other political faction he wished thanks to the party’s blessing. That means he didn’t act unilaterally.
