The Switzerland international is a tremendous player, according to Arteta, who also declared his affection for him.

Reluctantly, the Spainaird let the veteran Xhaka leave the Gunners in the summer, following his most successful season to date at the North London team.

Kai Havertz, who signed a £65 million contract to join Arsenal, effectively replaced Xhaka, and the former assistant coach for Manchester City took a major risk in doing so.

Havertz has had some time to get used to his new position, but following a challenging beginning, the Germany international seems to be adjusting to Arteta’s tactical demands, as evidenced by his three goals in his previous four games.

He was essential to our team. Yes, Granit is missed.

“I love him as a person and I miss him too,” Arteta said to Sky Sports.
