The Labour Party (LP) member responsible for coordinating Peter Obi’s presidential campaign in Bayelsa, Mr. Alagoa Morris, has switched to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Morris, an advocate for environmental protection, made the declaration on Thursday in Yenagoa, a week before the November 11 Bayelsa governorship election.

Governor Duoye Diri, he said, has done a lot for the state, some of which is secret, and that’s why he fully backs his re-election.

When asked, he remarked,

The current governor has my vote because he stands head and shoulders above the other candidates.

If you consider the local candidates competing on November 11, Diri is your sole option.

Life carries on despite the fact that I was never a member of the Labour Party before being designated state coordinator.

Yesterday I spoke with Governor Douye Diri, and after looking at the other candidates, I’ve come to the conclusion that he’s the one we should back.

This is because, as current events have demonstrated, anyone who enters will report finding an empty treasury upon their arrival.

Therefore, the one that is currently cooperating with development partners and other stakeholders need to be permitted to continue.

There is a lot about what Diri has done that hasn’t been made public. “I think he’s trying, so we should encourage him to keep going,”

His words.
